The Shepherd FFA organization was established in 1936, in the little town of Shepherd, Texas which is about 50 miles northeast of Houston up Hwy 59. The Shepherd FFA is a member of the Sam Houston District FFA and the Area 9 Association. The program started with just one Agriculture teacher and a small number of member. Over the years our little program has grown and grown, going from one teacher, to two, then three and now we have 5 advisors and over 411 members, who proudly represent our chapter at LDE's, CDE's, Conventions, and Stock Shows.
Throughout the year our members participate in a number of fundraisers to help raise money to do different activities throughout the year. We recently took over hosting the high school blood drive held twice a year, in order to give back to those in need. Our members help pick up can goods from other campuses in our district and deliver to the Helping Hand Food Pantry in order that others will have food to eat.
We here in Shepherd take great pride in our community, members, students, and school in order to help make sure everyone is successful.
